Clients
My clients are multi-faceted. Helping to develop all parts of my clients is a privilege as well as a joy for me. For my clients in the corporate environment, coaching results in less stress, more resiliency in the face of setbacks, and increased confidence. For those in transition, coaching brings a fresh perspective on talents, values, and dreams as well as the focus and discipline needed to get from A to B. The bottom line is that my coaching clients live better and bigger lives because of our work together.
Some people hate quotes and testimonials. Others love them. Whatever your point of view, know that these quotes are all from real people, giving their reaction to our work together.
Case Studies
Ken, International Marketing Guru
Goal: Having more fun and performing at my best
Results: Living life in alignment with values, greater use of strengths and better partnering with others, more confidence to "go for broke," increased sense of what's possible and knowledge of stuck places. (Note: After a recent corporate downsizing, Ken is pursuing new opportunities to leverage his strengths, so please feel free to contact him at akherron@optonline.net.)
"My VP comes up to me in the hall and asks "It's been a couple of months, so what are you really getting out this 1-on-1 coaching with Carol?" I tell him it's like having a trusted friend come over and let you try on glasses with different colored lenses. With each pair, you see a different perspective, and after just a few pairs you have a completely new level of self-awareness of how to better leverage your natural strengths, and how to understand and follow your passion."
Jill, Hospital Director of Admissions
Goal: Increased capacity to manage stress at work and home
Results: Anxiety tremendously reduced in all parts of life. More effective communications at work and more satisfying relationships at home.
"Carol and I worked on my ability to continually raise my own bar, identifying sources of motivation and energy, improving my ability to have courageous conversations and observing how I see myself and my relationships with coworkers. Carol asks a lot of questions on how I see the world, my place in it, how I see situations. This has facilitated my growth and awareness of how my actions and thoughts can be assets or liabilities in a business environment. Carol is a great listener. She not only hears what I am saying but also what I am not saying. This relationship has been stimulating, heartfelt and genuine at all times."
George, University Professor and Consultant
Goal: Move into a new career of being a writer and speaker.
Result: Renewed focus on priorities, increased confidence, and new appreciation for writing
"Carol gave me continuous support so that I could go freely into areas that I normally would not consider. While she never forgot her role as coach, she would not distance herself but go with me, as a trained partner and friend, to share her perceptions and insights as we worked together to sort things out.
"I was often surprised by her sharp insights and by her imaginative "assignments" for me to work on between sessions. Clearly she was under a discipline which was neither counseling nor therapy. I became aware that I was growing during the process and getting a better perspective on my professional difficulties. Knowing that I was hesitating about writing a book and about which I've hesitated too long, she helped me gain confidence in my writing skills. She especially helped me focus on priorities as I move into the next stage of my career."
What Other Clients are Saying
"Carol helped me see how others perceive me as opposed to how I perceive myself. My confidence grew and I started noticing the way others interacted with me. I honestly feel different when presenting to my upper management, in daily interactions with fellow workers and in dealing with my boss. Thanks, Carol."
Susan Koeppel, Six Sigma Black Belt, Caterpillar, Inc."I became a client because I knew I was in the wrong job. I felt confused and trapped. In fact, I was on the verge of leaving my company to regain my sanity. Instead of telling me that I needed to "jump ship", Carol helped me sort out why I was so unhappy. She helped re-acquaint myself with my passions and talents. I was able to enjoy what I could at the moment, and maintain a positive focus on where I really wanted to be. My improved attitude in a thankless situation did not go unnoticed. I am now exploring a transfer into a department that does the type of work that better matches my talents.
Your help in fleshing out what I liked and disliked about my current and past jobs, and where my passions lie, was a career saver! It is amazing what a perspective shift can bring."
Randy, Software Engineer, Sea Kayaker, and Back Country Skier
"With focus, precision, and a ferocity that operates as gentleness, Carol led me in an effortless dance that culminated in a leap from intellectual understanding to visceral knowing. From this place realities change."
Patricia, former chef turned coach
"Carol puts clients at ease, as if having a conversation. She finds ways for clients to come to grips with personal weaknesses and then helps them capitalize on their strengths. Carol makes her clients comfortable with who they are."
Peter, Athletic Director for a Public K-12 School and Father of Quintuplets
"Carol's coaching process helped me manage a difficult work situation with less stress and a greater sense of peace. I regained a perspective of not taking myself so seriously as well as a real feeling of freedom of being able to let go where appropriate. We also worked to help me achieve a better balance between work and personal time. Carol's use of metaphor, open-ended questions, and neutrality enabled the growth to occur. To this day, I still picture the "volcano about to erupt" as a metaphor for my pent up anger. I am grateful to Carol for the results we achieved and have enjoyed a continued ability to cope with similar issues as they arise."
Mark, Quality Assurance Expert
"Carol's natural curiosity and willingness to challenge has helped me better understand myself. This self-understanding has allowed me to reprioritize what is truly important in my life and has helped me redefine success."
Jeff, Ironman Triathlete and Financial Whiz
"Carol's coaching helped me understand better my leadership style and strengths. She helped me use my strengths to develop my staff and work more effectively with co-workers. Carol also delved into personal situations and worked with me on how to balance work and life issues. Her coaching and advice has helped me become more confident and more effective. Her ability to listen and touch upon all aspects of a person's life in order to help them be more successful makes Carol's coaching style unique."
Mary, Director of Human Resources, Pharmaceutical Industry
"Carol gives life to the little voice in my head. The little voice that tells me that something is not quite right or needs more attention. Further, the scheduled coaching sessions created time and a forum for me to deal with these issues rather than ignoring them or letting other priorities keep me from dealing with them. They are a way to guarantee some "me" time to help keep all of my priorities in order."
Tim, Telecommunications Industry
